Oregon
House is located 8 miles south of Yachats and 18 miles north of Florence
on Highway 101. The nearest airports are Eugene (75 miles) and Portland (170
miles). Yachats is a friendly, small community with fine restaurants, galleries
and shops. Florence is a historical town at the mouth of the Siuslaw River
close to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. There are hiking
trails in old growth forests including nearby Cape Perpetua and the region
offers a variety of recreational activities and sight-seeing opportunities.
These include the Heceta Head Lighthouse, the Sea Lion Caves, whale watching,
storm watching, fishing, horse back riding, bird watching, agate collecting,
sea plane tours and sand dune buggy rides.
